Fraser's approach to designing characters to emulate paper cut-outs in Cinema 4D.
Digital sketches using bold shapes, resulting in distinguishable characters.
Refined vector artwork in Illustrator, ready for export into Cinema 4D.
The vectors shapes are turned into meshes and stacked.
Additional details for hair and accessories are modelled to add depth and cast shadows, much like paper card would.
Finally lighting and paper materials are applied to complete the look.
